2013 has been a good year here at Varia Systems. We are continuing along our growth trend that really got kick-started in the second half of 2012. We have had a couple of major project wins this year with some big name companies across a number of verticals. We started off the year with a big project at Adventist HealthCare's Gaithersburg Headquarters facility, where we cabled 70,000 square feet of new office space, as well as installed Redwood Systems high-efficiency lighting.
We followed that up with a big A/V win with the Army National Guard's Dundalk Readiness Center, where we provided smart classroom and intercom solutions, as well as the sound components for a new training simulator. We were proud to assist the Army National Guard with their readiness mission. Lastly, we had a big win with Georgetown University, and that's just to name a few.
This year has also seen a flurry of hiring. We have hired a new Service Manager as well as a Service Coordinator to allow us to streamline our Service Department, and to provide more direct, timely and responsive support to our clients. We added a new Lead Tech to the department as well to aid in the field.
We have been expanding our Audio/Visual department as well, adding a new Lead Technician there as well. We expect to continue adding people as that department continues to grow, and we're excited every time we hear back from satisfied clients about how dynamic and functional our A/V offerings are, and with how much skill we installed them.
We have continued to expand our Data Center division as well, adding two new full-time dedicated Data Center technicians at our Virginia office, as well as a Key Accounts Project Manager at our Virginia office in Sterling. In Baltimore we have welcomed a new Account Development Executive, as well as a new Material Driver to our Operations group. All in all we have hired nine new folks since January and hope to continue to add new team members as we continue to grow and expand.
As 2013 has been off to such a great start all of us here at Varia would like to say "Thank you!" to all of our clients and partners who have helped us to grow the company, and allowed us to help them acheive their goals of safety, security and connectedness.
